In 1412 , along the sea to the north of present gaoqiao town in chuansha could be seen heaped - up mountains with beacon station , to facilitate passage of ships 明永乐十年（ 1412年） ，今川沙高桥镇北临海处筑起土山，设烽堠，以利船舶进出长江，成为海运贮粮的集散点，时称“宝山” 。
